Ground Floor and First Floor Extensions, Larchfield Rd, Roebuck, Dublin 14
This project involves a set of architectural extensions and internal improvements to a private residence located on Larchfield Road, Roebuck, Dublin 14, with the objective of enhancing spatial quality, natural lighting, and overall functionality across both the ground and first floors.
At ground level, the proposal includes a rear extension designed to accommodate a new open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. Large glazed openings establish a strong visual and physical connection with the back garden, creating a bright, contemporary space that supports everyday family life as well as social gatherings. The extension prioritises transparency, natural light, and smooth transitions between indoor and outdoor environments.
On the first floor, the design introduces an additional bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, expanding the home’s accommodation and providing a private, comfortable space for occupants. The new first-floor volume integrates seamlessly with the existing structure, respecting the architectural language of the house while adding valuable functionality. Carefully placed windows ensure balanced daylight and privacy.
Overall, the project brings a refined and modern architectural upgrade to the property, improving internal flow, increasing usable space, and strengthening the relationship between the home and its surrounding garden areas. The combination of ground-floor expansion and first-floor enhancement results in a more flexible, spacious, and contemporary family dwelling.
